CA will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial operations & leading a team in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (e.g., B.Com, B.Act) or a related field with a diploma in accounting and diploma in International Financial Reporting (Dip IFR) is required. CPA or ACCA certification is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting field, preferably within the service and logistics industry.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of Myanmar tax laws and experience in independently handling all company taxes.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and mentor accounting staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with individuals at various levels.
- High ethical standards and personal integrity, especially when handling sensitive financial information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience in managing financial projects, such as system implementations or process improvements, would be an advantage.
- Ability to adapt to changing business environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily accounting tasks and ensure the reconciliation of all accounts during month- end closing.
- Ensure proper filing of all financial source documents and assist in the preparation of annual and monthly budgets.
- Coordinate with the finance and internal audit teams to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, sales, HR) to ensure financial processes are aligned with overall business objectives.
- Provide financial guidance and support to other departments as needed.
- Handle the full spectrum of financial and management reporting functions, including consolidation, cash flow management, and tax reporting.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other relevant accounting standards, tailored to the business's size, nature, and volume.
- Ensure adherence to all corporate policies, procedures, statutory financial reporting requirements, and tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring compliance with Myanmar tax laws. Collaborate with external and internal auditors as needed.
- Conduct regular stock and asset checks, resolve discrepancies promptly, and inform supervisors when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure timely data entry.
- Prepare reliable, true, and fair financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for each business unit.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff to ensure smooth financial processes and strict adherence to established deadlines.
- Conduct regular sharing sessions for the accounting team to enhance their skills and knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, and software tools.
- Provide financial insights to support the Managing Director and senior management in the decision-making process.
- Review financial procedures, internal controls, business processes, and systems to ensure effective controls are in place.
- Liaise with internal and external parties, including bankers, auditors, and regulatory officers, on compliance matters.
- Ensure the security of financial information by completing regular database backups and maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist in the development of long-term financial strategies and business plans to support the company’s growth objectives.
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect the company’s assets and financial health.
- Lead the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and readily available.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions to improve financial controls and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Consultant, Director, and Managing Director.
